Personal Payments

Twitpay’s Personal Payments is a simple way to send payments via Twitter. There’s no need to sign up. All you need to use Twitpay is a Twitter account, a PayPal account and a little Twitter sense. Twitpay works seamlessly with the way you currently interact with Twitter. If you know how to use @ to send replies, then you already know how to use Twitpay.

Say for example that you want to give $5 to Evan Williams (CEO of Twitter) via Twitpay because you love Twitter so much. Evan’s Twitter handle is ‘ev’. All you need to do is use the Twitter website or a Twitter client and enter:

@ev twitpay $5 for great service

When you are ready to settle up, sign in to your PayPal account. You can settle with a single person, or with everyone you owe. Just click “Settle Up” and follow the directions at the PayPal site. (The recipients of the payment will be required to pay PayPal's commercial transaction fee of 2.9% + 0.30 USD and any other applicable fees.) You can send a payment in any increment between $0.01 and $1000.00.

To learn more about sending payments, see our detailed guide about Twitpay formats. (https://twitpay.me/p/guide)
